Conceived by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and inaugurated in 2010, the Royal Mansour is not a hotel in any conventional sense. It is a private Medina, a city within the city of Marrakech, enclosed behind ancient ramparts and devoted entirely to the art of living well. Here, 1,500 master craftsmen spent years sculpting each cedar panel, laying each hand-cut mosaic tile, and carving each plaster arabesque. The result is a palace of 53 independent riads that has no true equivalent anywhere on earth.
